Little Nemo
Exhibition at Complutense University, Madrid.
Curated by Mariana Lopes Bretas.
This adventure started when I asked the University where I studied to buy a wonderful book: the reedition by Taschen of Little Nemo, a comic book made by Windsor McCay (1905-11).
When the book arrived at the library and the headmaster saw it, he got so fascinated that he asked me to present it to the students and teachers. So, I took the opportunity to introduce it at the "Semana de las Letras Complutense", an annual meeting about Literature at the University. It was the perfect frame.
The display device was composed by the exhibition of the new book and an older edition I found in another department; a comic strip with one of the vignettes painted on the wall where visitors were allowed to paint; and a video-collage made from other videos found on Youtube to explain its context the viewers
Premiere.
